Sarah recenty asked if anyone had pictures of the old Palace in Saigon.
This video has pictures of Saigon taken during and before 1961 – including several of the old Palace – 🙂
In my opinion the old Palace looked like a Palace – they just don’t build them like that anymore.
Who remembers the deer that roamed around on the Palace grounds?
Enjoy the memories …

Bob, thanks for the great vid. Classic memories. Speaking of memories, does anyone recall a Bearcat F8F aircraft displayed in the “X” intersection near JGS, the school (later 3rd Field), the ballfield, etc.? I’m looking for a pic that shows the tail number. Thanks for your help…Mike McNally
[Mike – I’ll be posting the pictures you sent shortly – Bob]
LOVELY… great pictures of the palace that I remember…and also the deer.
The Palace, Catinat, La Pagode, Awesome.
I need to search through some stuff, but I may have some useful pictures as we were there 1960 to 1965. Also I have a 1965 Gecko I may try to get scanned if you would like that.
