About Saigon Kids

During the pre-Vietnam war era (1956 –1965) the United States and several other
countries sent advisory personnel to assist South Vietnam with its struggle against
communism. These advisors brought their families and dependants with them. This
site is about the life and times of those dependant children living in Saigon, long
before Vietnam was to become a household word around the world.

Within these pages are chronicles of our fascinating childhoods as those dependant
children … known today as Saigon Kids. Here we share our experiences of a lifestyle
that was often magical, privileged and painful … all at the same time. And, the
effects on our lives after we left Saigon … and, how our time in Saigon helped shape
us into the person we are today.

After nearly half a century we reunite here, continuing to preserve the very special bond
we made with each other so many years ago … in that far away place … Saigon.
