Have you ever sat at your computer wondering what it is like someplace in the world – maybe where a Saigon Kid you know lives at now. Or, maybe you are thinking of taking a trip someplace, as you wonder what it’s like there.

Well, now there is Earth Album. What is it you ask?

Earth album is a simpler, slicker Flickr mash-up that will allow you to explore some of the best photos from around the world all courtesy of Google maps and Flickr.

To begin your journey just click somewhere on the map that you’d like to see photos about. Or, you can type the location name in the “Jump to” box (top right corner of screen) then click “Go” – and you are there – 🙂

Scroll through the small pictures across the top of your screen using the little “arrows” to the right of the pictures until you find one’s you like, then click it to see a larger view. If you want to see more about a picture just click on the link to the right of it. From there you can view other collections by the same photographer.

The pictures change every few weeks as the best rated photos on Flickr change – so check back every couple weeks to see what is new.
