Most of us Saigon Kids traveled through Hawaii at one time or another on our way to or from Vietnam. Some of us spent more time in Hawaii than others … some even making it their home.
Here is a 1934 film transferred from an original 35mm print.
This is one of the earliest films about Hawaii I’ve come across.
I’m sure you’ll find it interesting and it will refresh your memories of times spent in the Islands.
The film is about a courtship and wedding with intervention by the Goddess Pele. One of many stories and legends of Pele.
The film is an interesting insight to early film productions in Hawaii.
