Happy May Day – Saigon Kids!!! As we all know May 1st is celebrated in many ways around the world … read more HERE
How do they celebrate May Day where you live?
How are you celebrating May Day?
Does anyone remember how May Day was celebrated in Saigon? If so, what did we do back then?
From all your travels, what place sticks in your memory as having the best May Day celebrations and festivities?
For me it will always be Hawaii, because in the sweet days of my youth May Day was “Lei Day” at school … and, tradition dictated spending the entire school day (and after school hours) with everyone giving each other – Lei’s. What a way to spend the school day – cruising around kissing all the girls and giving them a lei!!! While the girls cruised around kissing all they boys as they gave them a lei!!! Talk about a “make-out-athon” – LOL. The only day of the school year when we could all openly violate the school rules of – no making out on school grounds. Trust me we made up for all the other days on May Day – LOL – exchanging lei’s accompanied by the customary kiss while expressing our … ALOHA! How sweet it was … 🙂
Geezz…. I should be in Hawaii today!!!! – LOL
Wishing you all a wonderful and fantastic May Day – wherever you are and however you are celebrating today.

My days of finding boys to kiss are probably over but it is still wonderful to celebrate May Day/Lei Day in Hawaii. The best lei makers have their leis on exhibit at the museum and it is free for us to go down and see then after the judging. A wonderful tradition. Happy Lei Day from The Garden Isle.
And Happy Birthday Ms Arlene!
Sarah
Happy birthday Arlene and many, many more.
And why, Ms. Sarah, are you having trouble finding boys to kiss? I’m ALWAYS available for a nice kiss…lol. Well, maybe not always, but often…
