Helen’s Fish Sauce Stories & A Family Meal in Quang Tri

by Admin

Bamboo Boat Nuoc Mam

Do you remember Nuoc Mam?

Or, maybe I should ask, can you ever forget Nuoc Mam?

For most Saigon Kids I’m sure it is one of the first wonderfully lovely fragrances of Saigon you encountered upon arrival. It lingered in the air everywhere in Saigon.

Have you ever wondered how it was made? The old original traditional way. I bet you have.

Well, meet my friend Helen. She is going to show you not only how Nuoc Mam is made, but also how to make tradition Vietnamese food at home. This is the real Vietnamese food the way the Vietnamese make it an eat it.

Trust me you are going to be foaming at the mouth and drooling as you watch this video series of Helen’s Recipes.

Below is a video of Helen’s recent trip to Quang Tri Province in Vietnam where she visited with Hang and her family who make *Bamboo Boat* Nuoc Mam the old traditional way in their back yard like her mother and grand mother made it.

Watch as they prepare and share a family meal together of some very, very tasty Vietnamese dishes.

Stay tuned for more of Helen’s delicious Vietnamese recipes.

I can personally attest to how good they are — 🙂

This will be an ongoing series with a new video recipe each week.

If you want to know how to make a particular dish leave your request in the comments below.
