Francis Marion Durham IV died Sunday evening August 9, 2015 at home in Charleston, S.C. He had been in declining health for over a year.
Frankie was an American Community School ‘graduate’ of the 1962 Class in Saigon. He was Business Manager of the Bamboo Beacon and the Geckco year book and destined to become a world wide businessman which he did.
His last year was spent between his Charleston home and his beloved cabin in the woods of Colorado.
thank you, sarah, and ken, for keeping up with frank and letting us know.
i do so wish he could have been with us in phoenix and felt how much we care for each other.
we missed you at the reunion, frank. we still miss you. hope your passing was with peace and comfort. our love goes with you.
My condolences to the family of Frank Durham. I know at this time it will be difficult, but rest in this, my family will be lifting up your family at this time of lost, I will also pass this on to my Brother Larry, as well as my sisters Cheryl, and Donna, they were much closer in age to Frank than I am. God Bless each of those left behind.
My sincere condolences to Frank’s family.
I too was a member of the class of 1962 at ACS.
I believe there was only 6 of us that graduated that year.
My family arrived late in 1961 so I wasn’t fortunate enough
to get to know my classmates well. But living in Saigon was
probably the most pivotal experience of my life.
Frank (my Da) I miss you so badly. You were my friend for the past eleven years. I love you with all my heart. I have some of your belongings with me. Thank you for your kindness and support during a hard time in my life. I will never forget you, will always carry your picture in my wallet. I will forever yearn for all the times we spent on your deck and swapped stories, smoked stogies with a glass or two of wine. You were so smart and intelligent. I will never find closure for you until I go out to Folly Beach, where we used to go every chance we got and cast a bundle of beautiful roses with all my prayers into the sea. Dear God I miss you. I know you were Buddist, and I am Christian, but we never let that interfere with our relationship. I have a book of your family history in my possession if anyone that reads this, please let me know if I can share. My Heart is broken. I feel so alone since you left me to go on beyond. Love Hannah (Ellen)
