My college classmate Jocelyne (who went on the become a Pan Am flight attendant) said I could share this with you all.
Look at your photos from the 1965 evacuation to see if there aren’t some Pan Am planes on the Tarmac.
I know I arrived on one but can’t remember the 1964 departure aircraft.
Many of you may have later memories of Pan Am transport in and out.
So many of us remember Vietnam.
It is now the 40th anniversary since the Last Flight Out, which was a Pan Am 747 Clipper Unity.
In honor of the event my community at Clipper Crew has just published an amazing section remembering the last days of Saigon. The R & R flights, Operation Babylift and The Last Flight Out.
There are some gripping stories there you would enjoy reading, especially My Own Story of The Last Flight Out by Pamela Taylor and After The Last Flight Out by Robert Ruseckas, who remained behind in Saigon to rescue his wife’s family.
Enjoy!
