American Community School as 3rd Field Hospital

This is a great aerial photograph of American Community School after it was converted to the 3rd Field Hospital.

Of particular interest in the photo to Saigon Kids who attended ACS in 1960 is the famous *Water Tower* – upon which some mischievous pranksters (I won’t mention names) one night painted in bright red “The Eyes Of Novak Are Upon You“.

This is the best photo of the water tower I’ve come across to date.

Evidently, the *Hut* was removed when the 3 story wing was added to the school in 1963. In fact it appears the 3 story building was constructed in the courtyard where the Hut was along the left wall of the courtyard. The one story building directly behind the water tower was the last wing in the back of the school. It was the High School class rooms.
