Some Saigon Kids have emailed me asking about resources for old (and new) Vietnamese, French and American/English music and songs, particularly from our era in Saigon.
Here is a Viet-nam music data base. The data base starts back in the 1930s and comes forward to today.
On the Home Page go to the “Pick A Selection” drop down menu to select the type of music and era you are interested in listening too.
Some of the music is “listen only”, some is “buy only”, some is “listen and download” — and combinations of those. Much of the music can be download – FREE.
CLICK HERE to visit the data base.
PS: Sometimes the server is either not available or busy in which case you’ll not be able to connect to the site. Just try to connect later. Sometimes there will be a long wait after you click on the “play” button to listen to a song or download it – I’m not sure why, other then maybe over loaded servers in Viet-nam. If it is abnormally long waits, I usually just come back later. Just thought I’d mention that, as it took me a while to figure out on a couple of visits, that it is working but just transmission delays, etc.
